What to expect from your first class…

Welcome! …we are so happy that you’ve decided to get started, and guarantee that with a regular Bikram Yoga practice you will change your life in the most wonderful ways.

If you’re feeling nervous, scared, or even a little intimidated you’re in good company, most people feel that way initially. Just remember Bikram designed this class for beginners… and with a little practice and persistence you’ll soon feel right at home. You don’t have to get in shape before coming to your first class… just come to your first class… then make a commitment to yourself to practice as often as possible. You’ll quickly see and feel the benefits and ask yourself “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”

How to prepare:

  • Arrive to class well hydrated
  • Wear comfortable form fitting active wear (heavy pants or long sleeve shirts are not recommended)
  • Avoid eating a large meal 1-2 hours prior to class
  • Bring with you: water, 1 large towel to place on top of your mat, an optional towel for showering after class if you wish and a yoga mat if you have one (you can rent a yoga mat at the studio if you don’t have your own.)
  • It is common to feel overwhelmed in the hot room as a beginner, if you do lie down and take some deep breathes
  • If you have any questions or concerns please ask the instructor after class has finished
